Abstract
Result of Arthroscopic treatment of injuries of the lateral knee-joint meniscus of
sportsmen.
Damage of intra-articular structures of the knee-joint in athletes is approximately 60-68% of
all injuries of the musculoskeletal system. There remains unexplored role enthesiopathies popliteal
muscle rupture of the lateral meniscus.
The paper used data obtained during the examination and treatment of 118 patients, aged 16
to 55 years (26 ± 1,8 years) with lesions of the lateral meniscus of the knee-joint, were treated in
the department of sports injury clinic RITO Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, in
the period 2011-2012. Patients with damage of the lateral meniscus of the knee-joint without
enthesiopathies popliteal muscle tendons were - 44,07% (n = 52), with damage of the lateral
meniscus enthesiopathies - 33,9% (n = 40) and 22,03% (n = 26) - with menisitis lateral meniscus
enthesiopathies. Methods included a survey of orthopedic, clinical and instrumental investigations
(X-ray, MRI and ultrasonography). To assess the functional status of the knee-joint following
arthroscopic surgery we used a 100-point scale of J.Lysholm and J.Gillguist (1982).
Of the 118 patients, 97 (82.2%) patients studied long-term results of arthroscopic treatment.
Among them 45, 36% (n = 44) included patients who had a partial meniscoectomy (1/3) without
synovitoectomy 54,64% (n = 53) - which had a partial meniscoectomy (1/3) with partial
synovitoectomy popliteal tendon muscle. Good results were observed in 35, 05% (n = 34),
satisfactory in 62, 89% (n = 61) and poor -2, 06% (n = 2) patients.
